My father, the late Catechist Lawrence Ekam, was a welder. He died on the 6th April, 2011. My mother is a retired teacher now in trading.

I completed my Primary, Secondary and Tertiary education where I obtained Certificates including the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) in Business Education. I got to know SSND through my Parish Priest and Sr. Dorothy Enang.

I like computer work, beading, knitting, decorating, cooking, gardening and singing. I’m a second year Postulant and I’m still discerning God’s will in my life. As a Postulant, I have com

e to know more about myself, my spiritual life and how to relate to people.

Postulant Sarah Chepkorir Kipsang

My name is Sarah Chepkorir Kipsang. I was born in Trans-Nzoia County, Western region of Rift-Valley Province in Kenya. I am from a family of five girls and I am the first-born. My parents are William B. Kipsang and Esther C. Kipsang. I am 34 yrs old and a primary school teacher by profession.
I got to know of the SSNDs through a friend who once worked with the sisters when they first came to Kenya, Mr. Terry Hannely. I was attracted to the SSNDs by their simplicity in life style, hospitality and their ministry of transformative education.
Currently I am a second year postulant, continuing my discernment through prayer and learning more about the SSNDs. I have a desire to grow continually in openness to God’s call in my life and in Mother Theresa’s words “Earnestly desiring to love God is striking a spark from a flint; doing God’s holy will is feeding the fire”. It is my prayer and desire to be one of her daughters.
